A Dhayari resident was surprised to receive a response from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) regarding his letter highlighting issues of inadequate water supply, poor road conditions, and frequent traffic jams. In the letter, he had expressed the possibility of abstaining from voting if these issues went unaddressed. PMC’s election department assured him that inspections would soon be conducted, with staff from six PMC departments and representatives from PMPML set to visit Dhayari to assess the situation and draft a report. The resident expressed satisfaction with the response, emphasizing the need for prompt civic action to tackle these long-standing issues.

Dhayari was incorporated into PMC limits in 2017, along with ten other areas. However, the resident noted that the merger has not led to significant improvements in infrastructure, as issues such as narrow roads and underdeveloped services persist despite the area’s growing population and high tax contributions. Many residents, he added, continue to struggle with basic civic needs, and he hopes this election season prompts political parties to address these concerns seriously.
