Pune: Property registrations across the state this month are taking up after a prolonged respite caused by the various phases of the lockdown since the end of March.
Official data for the first eight days of this month exhibit that property registrations in the state - excluding Mumbai - stood at nearly 70% of the daily average in August last year. If one takes the state capital into account, this spill to 67%.
As per data available with the Inspector General of Registrations (IGR) and controller of stamps office, around 2,226 properties per day were registered this month across the Maharashtra state, while 3,302 properties were registered per day in August 2019.
Looking at these figures, it seems that Covid-19 has not had much effect on real estate.
