The Chief Minister has approved the implementation of the Unified Development Control and Promotion Rules (UDCPR) across the entire PMRDA area, including 23 merged villages. Introduced four years ago, UDCPR aimed to standardize construction regulations across Maharashtra, but it was only applicable to municipal areas. PMRDA had the authority to issue construction permits in these 23 villages, but developers could not benefit from the uniform rules. Due to repeated demands from the construction industry, a proposal was submitted to the Chief Minister to extend UDCPR to the entire PMRDA region.
In a recent meeting in Mumbai, the proposal to apply 66 UDCPR regulations in PMRDA was discussed, receiving a positive response from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers. With this approval, construction projects in PMRDA will now follow a standardized set of regulations, removing past discrepancies. The PMRDA Commissioner confirmed that this decision will facilitate smoother development, benefiting builders and accelerating urban growth in the region.
