In a recent development, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has disclosed its draft development project report (DPR) for the Ring Road Project. The project is designed to incorporate a five-meter lane designated for the metro corridor, featuring an array of 10 tunnels, 17 flyovers, and three railway flyovers. This proposed Ring Road, with a width of 65 meters and extending over 83.12 kilometers, aims to address the future need for mass transportation. The decision to reserve this space for the metro corridor is expected to preempt challenges related to future land acquisition.
Additionally, the PMRDA is actively progressing with the first phase of the Ring Road Project, connecting the Wagholi and Alandi areas, with land acquisition plans underway. After revising the project to optimize infrastructure utilization and minimize land acquisition issues, the Ring Road's width has been adjusted to 65 meters, covering a distance of 83.12 kilometers. This demonstrates a commitment to efficient urban development. The project is set to enhance connectivity and bring modern amenities to the Pune Metropolitan Region.
