The 11km road stretch from Alandi to Lonikand Phata, passing through the Markal industrial pocket, is in dire condition, riddled with potholes that have caused significant inconvenience and fatal accidents. Despite numerous complaints from residents and industrial employees, no substantial action has been taken. This road, crucial for industrial vehicles travelling from Bhosari, Chakan, and Ranjangaon, faces daily traffic jams that disrupt operations in Markal and Solu industrial pockets. Activists blame the state Public Works Department (PWD) for neglecting maintenance over the past decade, while the Indrayani Industries Association highlights the economic impact of these delays. The PWD claims to have initiated pothole repairs and issued a Rs 35 crore work order to address the issue.
