Citizens have raised concerns about traffic congestion near the Ramwadi Metro station, particularly along Nagar Road, where vehicular movement has slowed down significantly. Despite benefiting from the Metro service, residents believe it should not come at the cost of road traffic issues. A recent joint visit by local residents and traffic police officials highlighted the need for better traffic management and proper utilisation of footpaths to ease pedestrian movement. Local leaders have urged authorities to take measures to prevent congestion, ensure smoother vehicle flow, and increase traffic personnel during peak hours.
Ramwadi, the last station on the Vanaz-Ramwadi Metro corridor, sees high footfall daily and serves as a hub for feeder buses connecting to the airport and IT parks. Maha Metro officials stated that the station, ramps, and escalators were designed in coordination with the civic body to avoid road obstructions. However, they are open to working with Pune Municipal Corporation and traffic police to implement additional measures. Residents have also called for better support from Metro staff to help commuters adapt to the new system and address traffic-related challenges effectively.
