Ongoing road works in front of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Raja Bahadur Mill Road have triggered daily traffic jams, prompting commuters to appeal to the civic authorities for swift completion, especially considering its significance as a crucial link to Pune railway station. Despite efforts to keep a single lane open for traffic, commuters have experienced delays, particularly those travelling towards RTO Chowk from CoEP-Sangam bridge and from Juna Bazaar Chowk.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials have assured that the road repairs and installation of paver blocks are nearing completion and are expected to be finished in the coming days. However, commuters have expressed concerns about the uneven road surface and the impact of the ongoing work on traffic flow, urging authorities to expedite the process to minimise disruptions during peak hours. Additionally, similar road or digging works in various parts of the city, such as Karve Road and riverside road near Deccan Gymkhana, have also been causing inconvenience to daily commuters, highlighting the need for efficient management and timely completion of such projects.
