An oxygen park and several developmental projects, including the foundation for the Shastri Nagar flyover and a vegetable market in Yerawada, were launched in Wadgaon Sheri constituency by the deputy chief minister on Sunday. These projects, with a combined cost of over Rs 100 crore, aim to improve infrastructure in the area. The deputy chief minister highlighted that Rs 1,500 crore had been allocated to the constituency over the past five years and urged continued support for the ruling alliance to secure more funds for future development.
Residents, while welcoming the projects, expressed concerns about timely completion and urged the administration to avoid delays, emphasising that such developments should not become election stunts. The proposed Shastri Nagar flyover and underpass, costing Rs 97 crore, are expected to ease traffic congestion from Yerwada to Kharadi. However, citizens have raised concerns about traffic disruptions during construction, recalling similar issues during the Metro project.
