The closed section of the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Khadki is expected to reopen by the end of December, allowing for two-way traffic.
Metro work is ongoing in the Khadki area, causing a delay in opening the road from Khadki Railway Station to Khadki Police Station Chowk.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is waiting for the completion of the entry exit points of the metro station before opening the road. PMC believes that the road will be clear for transportation by December after the construction of the metro station's entry exit points.
Metro work in Khadki has been ongoing for more than two years, leading to route diversions and the closure of certain road sections. While the stretch from Harris Bridge to Khadki Railway Station was partially opened two months ago, the section up to Khadki Police Station remains closed.
Due to both road widening and ongoing Metro work, people have been facing traffic problems for an extended period. According to Metro officials, the work on Khadki Station will be completed in the coming days.
