Kirloskar Vasundhara and Rotary District 3131 have recently forged a promising partnership to extend their efforts in the Ramnadi Restoration Mission over the next five years. Their shared objective is to rejuvenate the Ramnadi waterbody, restoring it to its original continuous flow state through an ecological approach. Their comprehensive five-year plan encompasses various critical aspects, including river cleaning, wastewater treatment from both point and nonpoint sources, riverfront eco-development, and an extensive awareness campaign to promote ecological sanitation and sustainable, toxin-free lifestyles among local river communities.
Kirloskar Vasundhara will lead initiatives such as the creation of reed beds, river dredging, aeration of river water for natural purification, extensive tree planting for increased green cover, promotion of rainwater harvesting, and the restoration of Khatpewadi and Manas lakes. Additionally, they will organize awareness campaigns and workshops. On the other hand, Rotary District 3131 will contribute to the mission by establishing reed beds, renewable energy stations, stormwater collection and storage facilities, water tanks for wildlife, and promoting various eco-friendly practices, including rainwater harvesting, waste segregation, energy conservation, and urban farming. Both organizations will also play a role in enhancing school facilities and supporting needy students, aiming to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment along the Ramnadi river. This partnership underscores a commitment to environmental preservation and community well-being.
