In a significant development for Pune's traffic congestion issue, the Katraj-Kondhwa road widening project is back on track after facing hurdles in land acquisition. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had struggled to acquire the required land, but thanks to the generosity of landowner and entrepreneur, who willingly relinquished possession of 60 gunthas of land without any conditions in exchange for Transferable Development Rights (TDR), the project has now gained momentum. Additional Municipal Commissioner has confirmed the commencement of construction on the crucial route, which aims to ease traffic flow in south Pune. The state government allocated a fund of Rs 200 crore for this project, which had been delayed due to land acquisition issues.
