On Monday, the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP announced that PMPML authorities have been instructed to increase feeder buses from various Metro stations and provide buses to Lohegaon airport from Ramwadi. The minister held meetings with PMPML, Metro, and PMC officials to review ongoing and proposed projects, emphasising the need for feeder buses and last-mile connectivity in the DPRs of new routes. He also discussed the possibility of connecting Chandni Chowk with Hinjewadi to alleviate traffic on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass, and provided updates on the progress of various Metro lines and the introduction of 777 new buses to the PMPML fleet.
In addition, the minister reviewed the infrastructure projects with the Pune Municipal Corporation and addressed the demands of former corporators for comprehensive solutions to citizen issues. He noted that the civil work on the Swargate underground Metro route is expected to be completed by next month, though the Mandai station may take longer due to land availability issues. The minister also expressed his intention to discuss with the railway minister the initiation of a Vande Bharat train service connecting Pune and Delhi.
