Residents of Koregaon Park and Mundhwa have raised concerns about narrow roads and heavy traffic making these areas increasingly accident-prone, particularly during peak hours. The Pune Municipal Corporation's road department inspected North Main Road and Mundhwa after a food delivery person was killed in a recent accident. Although potholes and damaged roads are not a significant issue, officials noted that the narrow roads are the primary cause of traffic congestion. The PMC is working on widening the 2-km stretch between ABC Farm chowk and Tadigutta chowk to ease traffic flow, but six acres of land, including two acres of defense land, are required to complete the project.
Local residents and commuters have complained that ongoing construction work and narrow streets exacerbate traffic issues. The stretch is a vital link connecting Magarpatta, Mundhwa, and Pune Cantonment with Kalyani Nagar and Koregaon Park, frequented by vehicles as well as visitors to pubs, restaurants, and hotels along the route. Residents continue to demand road expansions to accommodate the area's growing population and improve safety.
