New AC Feeder Buses Launched from Yerwada Metro to Airport and Offices
PMPML and Maha Metro have introduced air-conditioned bus services on two additional feeder routes from Yerwada Metro station, aiming to enhance commuter convenience. One route will connect to Pune Airport via Ramwadi Metro station, while the other will serve commercial offices within a 5km radius of Yerawada station. This marks the third feeder route from Yerwada since the Metro station's opening last month, with buses operating daily from 6am to 10pm at intervals of 20-30 minutes. Officials stated that the feeder bus service to the airport, previously available from Ramwadi, has now been shifted to the Yerawada hub.
Regular commuters have called for higher bus frequencies and extended operational hours, especially for the airport route, recommending service until midnight with buses every 10 minutes. They also urged better awareness through announcements and signage at Metro stations. Maha Metro and PMPML officials are hopeful that more commuters will utilise these services in the coming months, with plans to increase bus frequency based on demand.
