The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is seeking a ₹6,000 crore boost from the state government to expedite the 136.8km outer ring road project in Pune. Divided into eastern and western sections, progress is notable in the western phase (50% land acquired) compared to the eastern (22% land acquired). MSRDC is optimistic about receiving funds in the first two months of the next year to meet the ₹11,000 crore allocated for land acquisition. The overall project, costing ₹15,857 crore, with an ambitious completion target set at 30 months from the commencement of actual work. Once completed, the outer ring road will redirect traffic, particularly heavy vehicles, away from the city's core.
