The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has accelerated road work in the NIBM Annexe area following recent reports highlighting commuters' struggles with potholes and slush on incomplete roads. A junior engineer from the PMC's road department stated that most of the concrete road from Raheja Circle to Ghule Patil Chowk has been laid, with only a few small sections remaining. The recent decrease in rainfall has allowed the pace of work to increase, and some potholes have been filled to facilitate smoother vehicle movement.
Despite the progress, residents remain concerned. A resident from Ganga Kingston Housing Society pointed out ongoing drainage issues, warning that without proper planning, the roads might need to be dug up again in the future. Another resident from Raheja Vista Housing Society criticised the work as mere "patchwork," noting that several stretches, including those near the Royal Heritage Mall and Imperial Towers, are still in poor condition. The movement of heavy construction vehicles and encroachments have further worsened the situation. The PMC official also mentioned that the construction of three major road projects in the area is ongoing, with roads being constructed in patches to prevent cracks, but no alternative routes can be provided during the process.
