Officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) recently visited Ganeshkhind Road to address challenges arising from road widening impacting the Pune Metro Line 3 project. PMC has proposed building three stations, including RBI station, Agriculture College, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Nagar stations entry and exit points, after widening the road from 36 metres to 45 metres. However, PMRDA expressed concerns about potential delays due to the road widening. Both parties have decided to collaborate and formulate a plan to ensure the smooth progress of the metro work, with the technical team of PMRDA actively involved in the planning process.
The PMC and PMRDA officials jointly visited Ganeshkhind Road, aiming to devise a plan amidst ongoing metro work and road widening challenges. The civic body's insistence on building three stations post-widening has raised concerns from PMRDA, emphasising the need for a comprehensive plan to address issues and avoid delays in the Pune Metro Line 3 project. The collaboration between PMC and PMRDA includes considerations for station entry and exit points, optimising plans, and managing road width according to the city's development plan. PMC has emphasised its commitment to assist PMRDA with land acquisition and prioritise road widening, aiming to align the metro project with the proposed 45-metre road width specified in the Detailed Project Report of Pune Metro Line-3. The ongoing efforts aim to balance infrastructure development with minimal disruptions to the metro project's timeline.
