PMRDA Set to Appoint Consultant for Hinjawadi to Hadapsar Metro Extension
For the Metro extension from Hinjawadi to Hadapsar, PMRDA will appoint a consultant. The extension of the Hinjawadi-Shivaji Nagar Metro Line to Hadapsar-Loni Kalbhor will undergo a feasibility study with the involvement of a designated consultant.
This metro extension will span 19 km from Shivaji Nagar to Loni Kalbhor, creating a connection between the IT hubs of Hinjawadi and Hadapsar.
The 23 km Hinjawadi-Shivaji Nagar Metro Line, also known as Metro Line 3, is being constructed under the PPP model. Likewise, for this new metro extension, Phase 4, the same model will be followed.
Pune Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (PUMTA) has instructed PMRDA to appoint a consultant for this metro extension. Additionally, PUMTA has proposed cost-sharing with MahaMetro.
The appointed consultant will also generate a report on the 25 km extension from Swargate to Khadakwasla. This extension will be linked to the 3rd Metro line from the main line, connecting South Pune at Hadapsar.
Upon appointment, the consultant is expected to submit the report within 2 months. It is anticipated that the implementation reports for the Metro Project Extension will be presented to the State Government by January.
