In a significant development, property registration officials in the Maharashtra district have flagged 125 property registrations for potential violations of real estate laws, following a meticulous review of 28,200 documents across 27 district offices over the past two months.
The identified documents are suspected to breach the Real Estate (Regulation and Development Act) 2016 and the Maharashtra Prevention of Fragmentation and Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1947. Notably, 55 documents are allegedly in violation of the fragmentation act, and 56 documents are reportedly flouting norms set by the Real Estate (Regulation and Development Act) 2016.
