The municipal court has denied a petition seeking a stay on actions against unauthorised hoardings behind the Sambhaji police chowky at Tilak Chowk, also known as Alka Talkies Chowk. Although the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) initially declared its intention to take action against the illegal hoardings, no steps were taken, leading to allegations of political influence. The hoardings, erected without proper permissions, prompted the suspension of three inspectors from the Kasba Vishram Baug regional office. Despite warnings, the hoardings remained, and a senior BJP leader allegedly intervened to prevent their removal, raising concerns about political interference in civic matters. Following a court order rejecting the stay, citizens await clarification on whether the PMC will finally act against the unauthorised hoardings.
