Vehicular movement in Pune faced disruption during peak traffic hours on Tuesday morning as the Prime Minister's convoy made its way from Raj Bhavan to the city airport around 10:15 am. Roads like Ganeshkhind, Baner, and Aundh experienced delays, inconveniencing hundreds of commuters. The city police implemented strict security measures, barricading roads leading to key areas like SPPU Chowk, causing temporary halts in traffic flow.
Despite efforts to facilitate the convoy's movement, it took nearly 30 minutes to clear traffic on connecting routes after the convoy passed through New Sangamwadi Road. The narrow carriage-width of roads, exacerbated by ongoing Pune Metro work, prolonged the clearance process at SPPU Chowk. Prior traffic diversions were instituted around the Camp area on Monday, and heavy vehicle movement in the city was restricted due to the Prime Minister's rally at Race Course grounds.
