Residents of Pune Municipal Corporation colonies in Wakdewadi and Pandav Nagar are urging the administration to repair their buildings following a partial collapse of a residential building in Wakdewadi. Although there were no casualties, the incident caused panic and highlighted the urgent need for repairs. Residents reported issues such as wall seepage, deteriorating conditions, and malfunctioning drainage systems. They expressed concerns that the poor maintenance could lead to a major tragedy if not addressed promptly.
In response to the incident, PMC officials visited the site and initiated urgent repairs. Local MLA has called for the reconstruction of the old buildings and has written to the municipal commissioner to prepare a comprehensive plan. He also discussed the issue with the deputy CM and district guardian minister, emphasising the need for a long-term solution rather than temporary repairs.
