In a recent meeting with officials from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), representatives from various housing society federations in Pimpri-Chinchwad highlighted a multitude of concerns affecting the residents of the twin city. These issues ranged from a shortage of water supply and incomplete amenities from developers to the pressing problems of unplanned development, pothole-riddled roads, traffic chaos, encroachments, parking woes, and a surge in dengue cases. The meeting, led by Assistant Municipal Commissioner saw over 28 issues brought to the forefront, with promises of action on immediate concerns like potholes and encroachments, while acknowledging that resolving issues like water shortages would require more time and collaboration with relevant authorities.
The housing society federations, including Chikhali-Moshi-Charholi Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Housing Society Federation, and Ravet Kiwale Housing Society Federation, voiced their frustrations over the lack of traffic discipline, encroachments, and insufficient police presence on Wakad to Kiwale Road. They also expressed concerns about developers failing to provide promised water supply to societies despite receiving completion certificates. The federations emphasized the need for greater adherence to rules and regulations governing project approvals and called for stricter oversight from PCMC. Assistant Municipal Commissioner assured that the issues raised would be communicated to the PCMC commissioner, with plans to collaborate with the police department and MSEB officials to address these concerns comprehensively.
