Residents of Ambegaon, particularly those living near the Katraj-Navale bridge link road, are expressing frustration over persistent traffic jams around the local underpass and its service lanes. They are urging authorities to prioritise the completion of ongoing road-widening and underpass construction projects to alleviate congestion and streamline traffic flow. With the area witnessing a surge in the number of educational institutions, housing complexes, and commercial establishments, daily commuters, including over 5,000 students, are facing significant delays due to the inadequate capacity of the existing underpass to accommodate the increased traffic volume.
Residents emphasise the urgent need for upgrades to the underpass and the widening of connecting roads to improve accessibility. They highlight the disparity between the narrow roads developed during the area's gram panchayat era and the wider underpasses constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) elsewhere. NHAI officials assure that the ongoing road-widening and underpass construction work is nearing completion, aiming to address the persistent traffic issues along the Katraj-Navale bridge link road.
