Road Woes in Aundh Commuters Demand Immediate Repairs at Parihar Chowk

23 Dec 2024

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has dug up a road stretch at Parihar Chowk in Aundh for water pipeline work, leading to a severely deteriorated road condition, according to commuters. Residents have expressed frustration over haphazard repairs, causing disruptions in vehicular movement. Commuters reported that barricades at the site were removed, but the road reinstatement was poorly done, leaving the stretch bumpy and unsafe for riders. Additionally, debris from recently demolished structures remains on the footpath, further exacerbating the inconvenience.

The civic administration has been urged to prioritize road reinstatement and debris removal ahead of the weekend and Christmas holidays to ease traffic chaos. Aundh's vehicular movement has already increased as commuters avoid Baner Road due to metro construction. Local residents have also highlighted illegal parking and car halting near Parihar Chowk as a major issue, calling for stricter action by traffic police and ensuring that left turns at the chowk remain open to prevent congestion. PMC officials stated that road-related works are being addressed on priority, with contractors instructed to restore completed stretches promptly.
