Despite multiple attempts to alleviate congestion at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Chowk on Ganeshkhind Road, ongoing construction of a double-decker flyover by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) continues to impede traffic flow. Three successive traffic diversion plans, including the latest ban on heavy vehicles implemented on March 22, have failed to address the persistent bottlenecks caused by narrowed roads due to flyover construction.
The construction activity has significantly narrowed the road on both sides, exacerbating traffic jams in the area. Despite efforts by authorities, such as closing certain entry points and rerouting vehicles, commuters continue to experience delays and frustration. With the ongoing challenges posed by the construction work, residents and commuters eagerly await effective solutions to mitigate the congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow at SPPU Chowk.
