Seepage issues have resurfaced at the grade separator near Swargate Chowk, connecting Shankarsheth Road to Saras Baug Road in Pune, just a year after the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out repairs. Commuters have noticed a gradual increase in leakage, leading to water accumulation on the carriageway, posing risks for motorists, especially bikers. Despite the repairs conducted in January 2023, regular cleaning, maintenance, and an inspection by experts are now being emphasised to address the recurring seepage problem.
The PMC officials have acknowledged the concerns and pledged to check the sources of water flow at the grade separator. While channels were constructed during the previous repairs, commuters are urging regular cleaning to ensure proper drainage and prevent potential hazards. Additionally, residents are calling for enhanced safety measures, including more lights inside the grade separator, to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of motorists.
