Residents of multiple societies in Undri, Mohammadwadi, and NIBM Annexe have been struggling with poor road conditions and steep slopes on hills, making commuting difficult. These issues have persisted for years due to plot owners stalling road widening, restricting free access. The major roads between Kadnagar Chowk and Caelum High School, and another road running parallel to the school exiting at Undri Marg, remain stuck in litigation. Additionally, heavy traffic, lack of streetlights, and improper markings exacerbate the residents' woes.
Housing societies in the area, particularly those developed by Nyati Group and Someshwar housing society, are the most affected. Frustrated residents have sent multiple letters to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the traffic police, urging them to address the chronic road and traffic issues. Several residents of Nyati projects have reported that the roads around their societies are built on slopes, making them slippery during the monsoon. The roads are also unsafe due to water spills from tankers and loose rubble. In response, the PMC announced plans to develop the stretch of road near Nyati societies connecting to the Katraj bypass through a new PPP model, pending approval. This development aims to address the issues faced by residents and school students.
