In this video, we have covered Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC). We have compared both corporations in terms of their management. Why Indore is the cleanest city in India and Pune ranks 9th in the country. PMC revenue collection between Oct-Dec 2022 - 1,500 Crore. Despite large revenue collection, PMC has failed to clean the garbage in the city. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) was formed in 1950 and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) was formed in 1956. The area included under PMC is 516 sq.km and the area included under IMC is 530 sq.km. Pune is the biggest city in Maharashtra. The total population of Pune is around 70 lakh and Indore is 35 lakh. The annual Budget of PMC is around 8000+ Crore and Indore's annual budget is around 7000+ Crore. In the Top Cleanest Cities in India (2021) list, Pune ranked 5th but in the year 2022 , Pune ranked 9th. Huge amount of revenue collected from PMC but still basic amenities are not provided like water supply, proper garbage collection and roads filled with potholes and dust.
